NABERS is a national rating system that measures the environmental performance of Australian buildings and tenancies.
Put simply, NABERS measures the energy efficiency, water usage, waste management and indoor environment quality of a building or tenancy and its impact on the environment.
What is NABERS?
NABERS can be used to measure a building’s energy efficiency, carbon emissions, as well as the water consumed, the waste produced and compare it to similar buildings.
NABERS is a national government program administered by the NSW Government (the National Administrator) and overseen by a national Steering Committee.
Compliance and quality assurance
Ensuring the integrity, transparency and accountability of the NABERS Program is our top priority.
Since it started in NSW in 1998, NABERS has expanded its reach to other countries with the aim to share key lessons and impacts in other regions.
